Patient Access Network Foundation and OutCare Health collaborate to advance LGBTQ+ health equity

The Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation today announced a collaboration with OutCare Health, a nonprofit organization leading the charge for LGBTQ+ health equity worldwide, empowering millions of LGBTQ+ individuals with comprehensive resources, support, and education.

OutCare Health works to further healthcare equity and accessibility for all individuals regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. Several of OutCare Health’s flagship initiatives range from The OutList® directory of affirming healthcare providers to mentorship, health equity training, community building, support groups, consulting services, and more.

“Through this collective effort, we hope to provide much-needed resources to LGBTQ+ communities, communities that have historically faced overwhelming barriers to care,” said PAN President and CEO Kevin L. Hagan. “Working closely to provide resources around financial assistance, advocacy, and education on complex healthcare access topics, our collaboration with OutCare Health will allow PAN the opportunity to help close the gap in healthcare disparities for LGBTQ+ patients and further our commitment to ensuring everyone has access to affordable, equitable care.”

OutCare Health was founded in 2015, when founders Dr. Dustin Nowaskie and their husband Jordan Nowaskie identified a need for affirming healthcare resources in their home state of Indiana. Now a national organization, OutCare Health has a holistic approach to creating a more trustworthy, transparent, and equitable healthcare system for LGBTQ+ communities.

Together, the PAN Foundation and OutCare Health will continue their work to ensure that LGBTQ+ individuals throughout the country are able to access essential, affirming medical care.

“Our work with the PAN Foundation will help us empower LGBTQ+ communities better than ever before,” said OutCare Health President & Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dustin Nowaskie. “The LGBTQ+ individuals we support will now have access to PAN’s financial assistance programs, opportunities to advocate for greater access, and education around complex healthcare topics. Our ability to support the whole person is growing, and we’re excited for this opportunity to widen our approach to creating a more equitable healthcare system and expanding our communities’ access to the services they need.”
