MSN: Less than 1 percent of clinical trials include trans patients

Fewer than 1% of clinical trials in the United States include transgender or nonbinary patients. An article in MSN highlights the results of a PAN survey that LGBTQ+ individuals and people of color respondents have a positive view of clinical trials and a strong willingness to participate—but are not being invited to participate by clinicians.

PAN’s Opening Doors to Clinical Trials initiative is mentioned in the article. Through clinical trial education, a TrialFinder tool, and the support of ComPANion Access Navigators, real people available by phone to help navigate clinical trials, PAN’s clinical trials initiative aims to help people overcome barriers to participation.
