Laurie G. Hughes is a dynamic and results-oriented executive and thought leader with a proven track record in small businesses, mid-sized companies, and major, global organizations, contributing significantly to growth and impact. Having an extensive background with leading healthcare, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies, Laurie leverages expertise in strategic consulting, program design, and operations to consistently drive positive change and momentum in healthcare access, one of her passions.

Laurie’s corporate impact spans global and multinational companies, having operated at the leadership level to extend her commitment to supporting and creating quality patient experiences. These roles include serving as Vice President/Head, US Patient Services at Biogen, leading the expansion of a team and overseeing patient program operations, adherence programs, field support, and specialty pharmacy engagement. She also served as Vice President at both Biogen and Teva Pharmaceuticals, evaluating options for the expansion of a $100M patient services division. Earlier in her career, in addition to starting her own market access and hub services firm, PharmAnalysis Group (purchased by United Biosource Corp/UBC), Laurie held senior roles with healthcare firms like McKesson, PAREXEL, and later CareMetx.

Currently, Laurie serves as a consultant and industry advisor, actively supporting private equity firms in analyzing market access firms/hub services for potential investments, acquisitions, or mergers. In this capacity, she has been conducting market research on industry firms having the potential for investment, conducting due diligence, serving in an advisory capacity on deal assessment and evaluation and working as an advisor post transaction.

Laurie’s career journey is one of advocacy and has included impactful roles in the nonprofit arena. Laurie has provided strategic direction and marketing expertise to organizations like the American Health Planning Association, The National Council for International Health and served as the Executive Director of a women’s health foundation where she spearheaded initiatives supporting contraceptive health. Today, she is actively engaged as a Board Member for a local organization in support of fundraising for her area hospital system, in addition to serving on the Board of the PAN Foundation.

Laurie holds an MBA in marketing from George Washington University and a BA in psychology and sociology from Indiana University.
