Mr. Klein brings over 35 years of experience in health care and information technology services to the PAN Foundation. Mr. Klein came to PAN from the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation, where he served as Senior Vice President for the CF Services pharmacy, and subsequently as Senior Vice President for Patient Access Programs.

His leadership at the CF Foundation was exemplified by the steady growth and eventual sale of the CF Services pharmacy to Walgreens. During his tenure at the CF Foundation, Mr. Klein also was responsible for the development of the CF Patient Assistance Foundation that provided financial assistance and case management services for people with cystic fibrosis.

Mr. Klein has had numerous leadership roles in the health care and information technology sectors, including as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Panurgy Corporation, a leading mid-market information technology services company, as well as a consultant on health planning and health promotion for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, respectively.

Ms. Azam manages PAN’s medical provider and pharmacy outreach. She ensures that PAN’s providers and pharmacies receive high-quality customer service from our call center and claims administration partners. Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, Ms. Azam was a Patient Access Specialist at the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation. She implemented a prior authorization solution to reduce administrative burdens at CF clinics and developed insurance content for the CF community. Ms. Azam has a Master of Science degree in Health Informatics Administration from the University of Maryland University College and Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Barbara Barb

Ms. Barb works closely with the Chief Operating Officer to manage initiatives related to the Board of Directors, human resource administration and office administration. She has more than 25 years of experience working in nonprofit organizations in the areas of office administration, human resources and finance. She previously held positions at the Outdoor Advertising Association of America and the American Clean Skies Foundation. Ms. Barb has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Bruce Barth

Mr. Barth’s role is to establish PAN’s technology vision and to spearhead PAN's technological development. He works with PAN’s strategic partners and the PAN management team to leverage technology to help fulfill PAN’s mission. Mr. Barth has more than 20 years of experience in business intelligence and data warehousing. Prior to joining PAN, he was the Program Manager and Technical Director of Business Intelligence for the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, where he focused on performance management for worldwide AIDS funding and transitional bioinformatics. He previously served as Global Business Intelligence Architect for Booz Allen Hamilton, General Manager of the Business Intelligence Division of Sybase for Asia/Latin America, and as Vice President and co-founder of Entrada Software, a business intelligence manufacturing software start-up. Mr. Barth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bard College and a Master of Business Administration degree from UC Berkeley.

Stacey Brown

Ms. Brown works closely with the Director of Program Operations to evaluate and enhance PAN’s customer experience by implementing system and process improvements and managing and tracking customer and quality issues to resolution. She has more than 17 years of healthcare experience in contracting, network operations, pharmacy licensing and provider relations. Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, Ms. Brown was the Manager of Contracting and Project Management for Cystic Fibrosis Services (CFS) at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Stacey Brown

Working with the Chief Technology Officer, Ms. Chen is responsible for internal and external enterprise data reporting, discovering data insights and identifying business opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. Prior to joining PAN, she worked at CSRA in business intelligence, data analytics and project management. Ms. Chen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Mathematics from Butler University and Master of Arts degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from George Mason University.

Mr. Cherande-Friedman is responsible for overseeing the operation and delivery of PAN’s patient assistance programs. Mr. Cherande-Friedman brings over 15 years of experience in operations, technology, finance, policy and analytics to the PAN Foundation. He previously held positions with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Bulfinch Group, B&D Consulting and Powell Goldstein. Mr. Cherande-Friedman has a Master of Health Science degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison University.

Randy Crout

Mr. Crout has over 30 years of experience in operations, finance, human resources and law. He previously held leadership positions with the City of Baltimore; Center for Vascular Medicine; DocSite, LLC; Panurgy Corporation; and Light Industries. Mr. Crout has a Juris Doctor degree from University of Baltimore School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Ms. Figley oversees PAN’s communications and public relations initiatives. She has more than 10 years of communications experience at nonprofit and advocacy organizations in the health care sector. Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, she held communications positions at the American Hospital Association, the New York State Health Foundation, and the Greater New York Hospital Association. Ms. Figley has a Master of Public Administration degree in Health Policy and Administration from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and International Politics from George Mason University.

Ms. Getz works closely with the President and CEO to support PAN’s patient assistance programs, including project planning, project task and timeline management, project communication, stakeholder engagement and project documentation. Before joining the PAN Foundation, Ms. Getz was a Program Manager for Healthcare.gov where she oversaw a team of 70 who managed many aspects of the site. Prior to that, she worked for IBM for over 15 years in a variety of roles. Ms. Getz has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland at College Park.

 Taida Horozovic

Ms. Horozovic manages the PAN Foundation’s digital media projects. She has over 15 years of experience in nonprofit and private sector organizational management. Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, Ms. Horozovic was the PR manager at Pristop BH, an affiliate of Weber Shandwick Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and worked as a PR Associate for Open Society Fund BiH and OneWorld Southeast Europe. In 2004, Ms. Horozovic co-founded CURE, a BiH women’s rights foundation, and served as its director for seven years. Ms. Horozovic studied Mass Communications at Bloomsburg University and completed a social entrepreneurship residency at Stanford University.

Ms. Naples manages projects related to PAN’s communications and public relations initiatives. With agency-side health communications experience in the nonprofit and commercial sectors, Ms. Naples brings expertise in strategic planning, message and material development, social media strategy and partner relations. Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, Ms. Naples supported biotech, medical technology and supportive care accounts at Spectrum Science Communications, and the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health at Hager Sharp. Ms. Naples has a Master of Public Health degree in Maternal and Child Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

Ms. Niles oversees the development and implementation of professional relations, and public advocacy strategies. Before joining the PAN Foundation, Ms. Niles served for eight years as Chair, Medical Relations and Advocacy for the Together Rx Access program. Prior to that, she was President and CEO of the National Women’s Health Resource Center, now known as Healthy Women, for more than a decade. Ms. Niles has a Master of Business Administration degree from Baruch College, City University of New York, and an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Rochester.

Amy Niles

Dr. Owens leads PAN's efforts to identify and define new assistance programs for patients with life-threatening, chronic and rare diseases. Dr. Owens brings 30 years’ experience in healthcare management to this task. He served as the Vice President of Medical Management and Policy at Independence Blue Cross for 22 years, where he was responsible for medical and pharmacy management, technology evaluation and medical policy. Dr. Owens is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Jefferson Medical College. He has written over 100 articles and editorials on managed care, pharmacy and biotechnology, which have been published in American Health and Drug Benefits, The Journal of Managed Care Medicine, The American Journal of Managed Care, Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy and Disease Management.

Ms. Patel oversees donor relations and identifies new donor and fund opportunities. Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, Ms. Patel was a Health Policy Associate at Applied Policy, where she worked with clients to understand and navigate the complexities of health policy and reimbursement issues, and provided client-specific analyses of health care policies, rules, regulations, and guidances, with a focus on the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Ms. Patel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from James Madison University, and a Master in Public Health degree with a concentration in Health Management and Policy, from the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

Ms. Quartey works closely with the Director of Provider Relations to develop and implement PAN's provider outreach strategy.  She has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry focusing on insurance coverage, reimbursement and access to care programs. Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, Ms. Quartey held positions with CareMetx, the Lash Group and Accenture. She is a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Marketing from Syracuse University.

Mr. Schlenoff brings over 15 years of financial management experience to the PAN Foundation. Mr. Schlenoff was formerly a Controller at PAN Foundation. He previously worked at the Cystic Fibrosis Services, Inc. where he served as Controller and oversaw and managed all financial aspects of the organization. Mr. Schlenoff is a Certified Public Accountant. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Mr. Shrestha works closely with the Director of Project Management to assess, analyze and implement PAN’s requirements in new system implementations. Prior to joining PAN, Mr. Shrestha was a Senior Business Analyst at Fidelis Care, where he spearheaded the utilization management team. Mr. Shrestha has a Bachelor of Science degree from Methodist University and Master of Arts Degree in International Policy- Sustainable Development from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.

Scott Schlenoff

Ms. Sriram assists the Director of Development with the day-to-day management of the donor portfolio and identification of new donor and disease fund opportunities. Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, Ms. Sriram held positions at Gazuntite, a health start-up company, where she worked on developing an app for heart failure patients, and the SCORE Concussion Clinic at the Children’s National Health System, where she provided data analysis to pediatric neuropsychologists to develop clinical assessment tools, improve mild Traumatic Brain Injury treatment, provide neurocognitive baseline testing for athletes, and educate parents, coaches, academic administrators and athletic directors on concussion recognition, response and assessment. Ms. Sriram has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a Health Policy Administration minor from Penn State University.

Mr. Straus is responsible for assisting the CFO in all accounting matters, including financial statement preparation, report writing, revenue tracking, expense analysis and bill paying. He has over 15 years of experience in running and managing the operations of accounting departments in the nonprofit, technology, and newspaper industries. Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, Mr. Straus worked as a consultant, assisting organizations with refining their accounting department operations. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance from Northeastern Illinois University.

Prior to joining the PAN Foundation, she held marketing and customer intelligence positions at Binary Fountain and worked as a Healthcare Actuary Analyst Intern for Korn Ferry Hay Group. Ms. Zu has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Georgetown University.
