The Patient Access Network Foundation believes that cost sharing should not prevent anyone from obtaining medically necessary treatment.
PAN Position Statements
The PAN Foundation's mission is to help underinsured people with life-threatening, chronic and rare diseases get the medications and treatments they need by assisting with their out-of-pocket costs and advocating for improved access and affordability. The following position puts patients first in our complex healthcare system, and can help them access treatment at a price they can afford.

Travel Assistance Survey Report
In fall 2019, we distributed a transportation assistance survey to understand whether people with serious illnesses face transportation barriers that impede their ability to make medical appointments and pick up prescriptions. Findings from the survey reveal a gap that we’re working to bridge.
PAN Challenge and Cost-Sharing Roundtable
A collaboration between PAN and The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC ®), the PAN Challenge (2015, 2016 and 2017) is a national competition seeking original research on the topic of patient assistance, focusing on patients’ out-of-pocket costs for prescription medications. The Cost-Sharing Roundtable is an annual event hosted by PAN in collaboration with AJMC ®. Bringing together advocacy leaders and policymakers, the Roundtable provides a forum to offer perspectives on patient cost-sharing challenges and potential policy solutions.
We offer information about patient support organizations, travel assistance for medical treatment, clinical trial information, caregiver resources and more.
