Increase participation in clinical trials to advance innovation and improve health outcomes for patients
PAN’S POSITION
The public and private sectors must increase participation in clinical trials to advance innovation and improve health outcomes for patients.
The U.S. has long been a leader in medical research and innovation in the world. But there are still many conditions that don’t have an effective treatment, or one that works for everyone. To ensure continued innovation, participation and representation in clinical trials is essential. Clinical trials can create better treatments and health outcomes for everyone. This is especially true for those living with life-threatening or chronic health conditions. At the same time, they can help to identify efficiency improvements in the process.
The PAN Foundation encourages Congress, federal public health agencies, and the biomedical industry to implement policies that increase clinical trial participation. By removing barriers, we can ensure broad representation from the U.S. population. And this will help to advance treatment innovation that works for everyone.
