PAN earns awards from Fast Company and Charity Navigator

The PAN Foundation has been honored with two prestigious national awards, making Fast Company’s third annual Brands that Matter list and earning Charity Navigator’s inaugural Community Choice Award.

Earlier today, media brand Fast Company named PAN to its third annual Brands That Matter list, which recognizes companies and organizations of any size for their relevance, cultural impact, ingenuity, and business impact. The companies and nonprofits named to Fast Company’s 2023 list, which included 165 brands, represent large multinational conglomerates, small-but-mighty companies, and nonprofits. PAN was recognized in the Health and Wellness category and was the only charitable patient assistance foundation to earn the distinction.

“As one of the nation’s largest and most impactful charitable foundations, PAN works tirelessly to ensure every person has equitable access to affordable healthcare. We work hard for our patients and not for the recognition, but we are of course, thrilled and honored to be named to this notable list,” said Kevin L. Hagan, PAN’s President and CEO. “This is truly an honor for our dedicated staff, who uphold PAN’s mission and live out the organizational values that make up our brand on a daily basis.”

This national recognition comes on the heels of PAN winning Charity Navigator’s inaugural Community Choice Award, an honor that was decided by popular vote. Only organizations that had achieved a perfect four-star rating based on Charity Navigator’s comprehensive evaluation framework—high-performing, impactful organizations—were considered for the Community Choice Award.

Both of these accolades underscore PAN’s national impact and organizational effectiveness, and I’m proud to see our integrity, operational excellence, and commitment to patients recognized.

Deanna Banks, Chair, PAN Board of Directors

Charity Navigator annually evaluates nearly 200,000 charities based on organizational effectiveness, impact, and transparency, awarding up to a four-star rating that can guide philanthropic giving.

Following two rounds of public voting, PAN was crowned the winner of the super-sized category, beating out 21 other organizations. This recognition is another indication of the critical role PAN plays in supporting patients and ensuring they have access to their lifesaving treatments.

“Receiving national awards for our work is always special, but to receive an honor based on widespread support from our patients and their loved ones, healthcare professionals, advocates, and the rest of our community can’t be topped,” said Deanna Banks, Chair of PAN’s Board of Directors. “Both of these accolades underscore PAN’s national impact and organizational effectiveness, and I’m proud to see our integrity, operational excellence, and commitment to patients recognized.”
