The PAN Foundation welcomes Alan Klein as Chief Growth and Strategy Officer

The PAN Foundation is pleased to announce that Alan Klein has joined its executive team as Chief Growth and Strategy Officer, bringing decades of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, and initiatives within the healthcare nonprofit and pharmaceutical sectors.

In this role, Alan will be responsible for corporate growth activities in support of the PAN Foundation’s mission of accelerating access to affordable, equitable healthcare for millions of people living with life-threatening, chronic, and rare diseases through financial assistance, advocacy, and education programs.

“Alan’s expertise across the healthcare industry makes him an ideal candidate to further strengthen our impact for millions of people across the U.S.” said Kevin L. Hagan, President and CEO of the PAN Foundation.

Before joining the PAN Foundation, Alan served as Chief Development Officer at the HealthWell Foundation for over nine years, and as a recognized expert on charitable patient assistance programs and access-to-care initiatives, including through participation in the White House Cancer Moonshot and as an invited speaker to the White House Minority Health Forum in 2024.

“I was inspired to join the PAN Foundation because of their bold mission and their innovative approach to accelerating access to care through three comprehensive strategies: financial assistance, advocacy, and education,” said Alan Klein, PAN Foundation Chief Growth and Strategy Officer. “The positive impact that PAN has had over the last 20 years has been outstanding, and clearly recognized by a variety of patient stakeholder groups. I’m thrilled to join their dedicated team.”

Throughout his career, Alan has spent more than 30 years in senior-level business development and management positions at pre-revenue, small, and large organizations within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. In addition, he has been responsible for the management of revenue development and portfolio investments, profit management, and supervision of strategic product development programs in his prior roles.

Alan holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and a BA from the University of Maryland.
